The Gallopers

In the name of GOD, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.

بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

bis'mi l-lahi l-raḥmāni l-raḥīm

By the fast gallopers.

وَٱلْعَٰدِيَٰتِ ضَبْحًا

wal-ʿādiyāti ḍabḥa

Igniting sparks.

فَٱلْمُورِيَٰتِ قَدْحًا

fal-mūriyāti qadḥa

Invading (the enemy) by morning.

فَٱلْمُغِيرَٰتِ صُبْحًا

fal-mughīrāti ṣub'ḥa

Striking terror therein.

فَأَثَرْنَ بِهِۦ نَقْعًا

fa-atharna bihi naqʿa

Penetrating to the heart of their territory.

فَوَسَطْنَ بِهِۦ جَمْعًا

fawasaṭna bihi jamʿa

The human being is unappreciative of his Lord.

إِنَّ ٱلْإِنسَٰنَ لِرَبِّهِۦ لَكَنُودٌ

inna l-insāna lirabbihi lakanūdu

He bears witness to this fact.

وَإِنَّهُۥ عَلَىٰ ذَٰلِكَ لَشَهِيدٌ

wa-innahu ʿalā dhālika lashahīdu

He loves material things excessively.

وَإِنَّهُۥ لِحُبِّ ٱلْخَيْرِ لَشَدِيدٌ

wa-innahu liḥubbi l-khayri lashadīdu

Does he not realize that the day will come when the graves are opened?

أَفَلَا يَعْلَمُ إِذَا بُعْثِرَ مَا فِى ٱلْقُبُورِ

afalā yaʿlamu idhā buʿ'thira mā fī l-qubūr

And all secrets are brought out.

وَحُصِّلَ مَا فِى ٱلصُّدُورِ

waḥuṣṣila mā fī l-ṣudūr

They will find out, on that day, that their Lord has been fully Cognizant of them.

إِنَّ رَبَّهُم بِهِمْ يَوْمَئِذٍ لَّخَبِيرٌۢ

inna rabbahum bihim yawma-idhin lakhabīru
