The Galaxies

In the name of GOD, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.

بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

bis'mi l-lahi l-raḥmāni l-raḥīm

The sky and its galaxies.

وَٱلسَّمَآءِ ذَاتِ ٱلْبُرُوجِ

wal-samāi dhāti l-burūj

The promised day.

وَٱلْيَوْمِ ٱلْمَوْعُودِ

wal-yawmi l-mawʿūd

The witness and the witnessed.

وَشَاهِدٍ وَمَشْهُودٍ

washāhidin wamashhūdi

Woe to the people of the canyon.

قُتِلَ أَصْحَٰبُ ٱلْأُخْدُودِ

qutila aṣḥābu l-ukh'dūd

They ignited a blazing fire.

ٱلنَّارِ ذَاتِ ٱلْوَقُودِ

al-nāri dhāti l-waqūd

Then sat around it.

إِذْ هُمْ عَلَيْهَا قُعُودٌ

idh hum ʿalayhā quʿūdu

To watch the burning of the believers.

وَهُمْ عَلَىٰ مَا يَفْعَلُونَ بِٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ شُهُودٌ

wahum ʿalā mā yafʿalūna bil-mu'minīna shuhūdu

They hated them for no other reason than believing in GOD, the Almighty, the Praiseworthy.

وَمَا نَقَمُوا۟ مِنْهُمْ إِلَّآ أَن يُؤْمِنُوا۟ بِٱللَّهِ ٱلْعَزِيزِ ٱلْحَمِيدِ

wamā naqamū min'hum illā an yu'minū bil-lahi l-ʿazīzi l-ḥamīd

To Him belongs the kingship of the heavens and the earth. And GOD witnesses all things.

ٱلَّذِى لَهُۥ مُلْكُ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ وَٱللَّهُ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَىْءٍ شَهِيدٌ

alladhī lahu mul'ku l-samāwāti wal-arḍi wal-lahu ʿalā kulli shayin shahīdu

Surely, those who persecute the believing men and women, then fail to repent, have incurred the retribution of Gehenna; they have incurred the retribution of burning.

إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ فَتَنُوا۟ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَٱلْمُؤْمِنَٰتِ ثُمَّ لَمْ يَتُوبُوا۟ فَلَهُمْ عَذَابُ جَهَنَّمَ وَلَهُمْ عَذَابُ ٱلْحَرِيقِ

inna alladhīna fatanū l-mu'minīna wal-mu'mināti thumma lam yatūbū falahum ʿadhābu jahannama walahum ʿadhābu l-ḥarīq

Surely, those who believed and led a righteous life, have deserved gardens with flowing streams. This is the greatest triumph.

إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَعَمِلُوا۟ ٱلصَّٰلِحَٰتِ لَهُمْ جَنَّٰتٌ تَجْرِى مِن تَحْتِهَا ٱلْأَنْهَٰرُ ذَٰلِكَ ٱلْفَوْزُ ٱلْكَبِيرُ

inna alladhīna āmanū waʿamilū l-ṣāliḥāti lahum jannātun tajrī min taḥtihā l-anhāru dhālika l-fawzu l-kabīr

Indeed, your Lord's blow is severe.

إِنَّ بَطْشَ رَبِّكَ لَشَدِيدٌ

inna baṭsha rabbika lashadīdu

He is the One who initiates and repeats.

إِنَّهُۥ هُوَ يُبْدِئُ وَيُعِيدُ

innahu huwa yub'di-u wayuʿīd

And He is the Forgiving, Most Kind.

وَهُوَ ٱلْغَفُورُ ٱلْوَدُودُ

wahuwa l-ghafūru l-wadūd

Possessor of the glorious throne.

ذُو ٱلْعَرْشِ ٱلْمَجِيدُ

dhū l-ʿarshi l-majīd

Doer of whatever He wills.

فَعَّالٌ لِّمَا يُرِيدُ

faʿʿālun limā yurīd

Did you note the history of the troops?

هَلْ أَتَىٰكَ حَدِيثُ ٱلْجُنُودِ

hal atāka ḥadīthu l-junūd

Pharaoh and Thamûd?

فِرْعَوْنَ وَثَمُودَ

fir'ʿawna wathamūd

Those who disbelieve are plagued with denial.

بَلِ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ فِى تَكْذِيبٍ

bali alladhīna kafarū fī takdhībi

GOD is fully aware of them.

وَٱللَّهُ مِن وَرَآئِهِم مُّحِيطٌۢ

wal-lahu min warāihim muḥīṭu

Indeed, it is a glorious Quran.

بَلْ هُوَ قُرْءَانٌ مَّجِيدٌ

bal huwa qur'ānun majīdu

In a preserved master tablet.

فِى لَوْحٍ مَّحْفُوظٍۭ

fī lawḥin maḥfūẓi
