The Fig

In the name of GOD, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.

بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

bis'mi l-lahi l-raḥmāni l-raḥīm

By the fig and the olive.

وَٱلتِّينِ وَٱلزَّيْتُونِ

wal-tīni wal-zaytūn

Mount Sinai.

وَطُورِ سِينِينَ

waṭūri sīnīn

And this honored town (Mecca).

وَهَٰذَا ٱلْبَلَدِ ٱلْأَمِينِ

wahādhā l-baladi l-amīn

We created man in the best design.

لَقَدْ خَلَقْنَا ٱلْإِنسَٰنَ فِىٓ أَحْسَنِ تَقْوِيمٍ

laqad khalaqnā l-insāna fī aḥsani taqwīmi

Then turned him into the lowliest of the lowly.

ثُمَّ رَدَدْنَٰهُ أَسْفَلَ سَٰفِلِينَ

thumma radadnāhu asfala sāfilīn

Except those who believe and lead a righteous life; they receive a reward that is well deserved.

إِلَّا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَعَمِلُوا۟ ٱلصَّٰلِحَٰتِ فَلَهُمْ أَجْرٌ غَيْرُ مَمْنُونٍ

illā alladhīna āmanū waʿamilū l-ṣāliḥāti falahum ajrun ghayru mamnūni

Why do you still reject the faith?

فَمَا يُكَذِّبُكَ بَعْدُ بِٱلدِّينِ

famā yukadhibuka baʿdu bil-dīn

Is GOD not the Most Wise, of all the wise ones?

أَلَيْسَ ٱللَّهُ بِأَحْكَمِ ٱلْحَٰكِمِينَ

alaysa l-lahu bi-aḥkami l-ḥākimīn
